He has a rich experience of more than three and half decades in power sector and has been responsible for strategic planning, policy formulation, and the implementation of systems to streamline the procurement process for large-scale power generation units. Mr. Gupta has played a crucial role in ensuring efficiency, transparency, and compliance with government regulations throughout the procurement phases at NTPC. He also possesses rich experience of handling Contract Administration of more than 40 GW of Thermal, Gas and Hydro Fleets of the Company.
He has been also responsible for spearheading the growth of Renewable Capacities of the Company including development of Renewable roadmap, preparing and pushing through various strategic and growth initiatives of Renewable Capacity addition of the company.
He is a Mechanical Engineer from Delhi College of Engineering and also possess Master Degree in Business Administration from Faculty of Management Studies. He has undergone various Strategic Leadership programme from reputed organization such as Wharton School of Business and ISB Hyderabad. His dual expertise in engineering and finance makes him an asset in strategic decision-making.
Currently Mr Gupta is heading Renewable Energy vertical of NTPC Ltd as Executive Director (Renewable Energy) & CEO of fully owned subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Ltd. He is also representing as Director in various Boards of Subsidiary and Joint Venture Companies of NTPC Green Energy Ltd. He is responsible for spear heading implementation of Renewable Energy and Green Hydrogen initiatives of the Company pan India.
He is guiding NTPC’s efforts to achieve a renewable energy portfolio of 60+ GW over the next 10 years and is also spearheading the company’s initiatives in the hydrogen economy.
