The Secretariat of the Global Alliance for Sustainable Energy is operated by the Greening the Islands Foundation, a non-governmental organization dedicated to fostering sustainable solutions and driving clean energy initiatives globally. The Secretariat plays a pivotal role in coordinating the efforts of the Alliance, ensuring effective collaboration among its diverse members, and advancing the shared mission of accelerating the transition to a sustainable energy future. By facilitating knowledge exchange, supporting policy development, and overseeing working groups, the Secretariat helps pave the way for innovative, inclusive, and impactful solutions worldwide across technologies and throughout the value chain. The Secretariat is composed by a core team who manages the day-to-day activities of the Alliance and by specialists who support the four Working Groups to progress their respective agenda and achieve their goals. Greening the Islands specialists are highly-skilled professionals with in-depth expertise in Carbon Neutrality, Circular Economy, Human Rights & Inclusion and Biodiversity respectively.
