Michael Koebele is Compliance Director at JA Solar in charge of ESG, regulatory affairs and trade, having more than one and a half decades of experience in these fields. Prior to joining JA Solar, Michael worked in two global companies – US-American and Korean – advising them, among others, on various topics of public policy, value chain, and trade matters.
Michael is a German-qualified attorney who started his career as a trade and regulatory attorney with US law firms in Brussels. Prior to joining private practice, Michael worked, researched and published in the field of international economic law as Senior Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Public International Law and Comparative Public Law in Heidelberg.
Michael is a law graduate of Heidelberg University, holds a doctorate of the University of Hamburg and an LL.M. degree of the University of Michigan.
