Francesco Luise manages Policy & Projects at Greening the Islands foundation, where he also coordinates the global Observatory.
Francesco is dedicated to supporting the transition to a decarbonised, more sustainable and just society in the face of climate change.
With research and editorial background in socio-economic development and sustainability, especially in developing countries, he has moved toward the international renewable energy and circular economy sectors.
His experience in the industry grew fast and multifaceted as he managed international grants (USD 250k+) and programs, ran global advocacy campaigns and produced analyses and reports on renewables, circularity, resilience and adaptation, collaborating with different organisations (including Global Solar Council, IRENA, UNDESA, Global Renewables Alliance).
He is currently focused on contributing to securing net zero by 2050 while ensuring energy transition’s inclusivity, through policy work and the development of tailored monitoring systems. His activity is characterised by a regional-to-global approach, encompassed by international partnerships, multistakeholder cooperation, and participation in major stages such as UNFCCC COP.
