Global Solar Council is the voice of the world’s solar energy industry on the global stage, a non-profit body registered in Washington D.C. and representing national, regional and international associations as well as leading solar sector corporations from all the globe. Envisioning Solar energy as the leading solution to the world’s energy needs, our mission is to promote the rapid adoption of solar energy globally, through market development, partnerships and education.
We are one of the founding members. As the voice of the world’s solar PV industry, we are constantly engaging institutions, businesses and partners to promote rapid, mass adoption of solar energy. Today, it is impossible to separate that mission from issues of solar power’s economic, environmental and social sustainability. Moreover, given the way PV alters economic and social dynamics as it is implemented in industrial, residential and agricultural settings, we need to engage the broadest range of stakeholders about the future of solar, including industrial users, civil society and consumers globally. Through the Alliance, we can work collaboratively towards that shared goal and connect our members with key actors along the renewable energy value chains as well as international corporations. Sustainable energy is a shared vision and a journey we must take together.
